From Thomas Dolby’s EP “Amerikana”. Thomas
on vocals and piano, I’m on fretless bass, Mark Knopfler
and Kevin Armstrong on guitars, Bruce Kaphan steel guitar,
Natalie MacMaster fiddle, Liam Genockey drums.
Paul Lizewski produced a 4 song EP featuring singer/songwriter
Rob Lamothe and I was fortunate to take part in the project
as Arranger, Bassist and Music Director. It was the
first time I’d written for a large string section (20
piece) and I had a blast, learned a lot in the process. Chris
Miller is on drums, Paul L. on Piano, Rob L. played guitar
and sang his heart out. Vivian Campbell of Def Leopard is
on lead guitar.
Bruce Kaphan produced this album of songs by Gregory
John Patzner and Sharlene Ayestaran. It features
an all-star cast of Nashville session players (too many
to list here!). I did the horn arrangement for 2
Trumpets, Tenor Sax and Trombone.
Originally intended for the album Slider, this ended up being
released on the compilation CD “Secular Steel”,
produced by Elliott Sharp. Bruce is on Steel Guitar,
Ian Hoffman on drums, I’m on Fretless Bass.
